Citizen's Emergency Response Network, Inc.

CERN, Inc. is a Bronx-based organization formed in 2011, incorporated in 2012 and granted 501c3 tax exempt status in 2014.  CERN’s mission is to promote emergency preparedness through communications, community resiliency, health and safety. Our primary areas of operation are Harlem and the Bronx.

Harlem Emergency Network was formed after Hurricane Sandy to address the issue of disaster preparedness in Harlem through emergency communications.  Harlem Emergency Network operates a variety of communications platforms, trains Harlem residents in emergency communications protocols, preparedness and safety and produces health and safety events in Harlem.

Tai Chi Classes and Tai Chi & Qi Gong Day:

CERN promotes free Tai Chi introductory classes in Southeast Bronx Neighborhood Center (SEBNC), Crotona Park, Behagen Playground, Drew Park & Fulton Terrace.CERN also promotesTai Chi presentations at many indoor and outdoor events throughout the Bronx, including the annual Tai Chi and Qi Gong Day in the Bronx.  

CERN is an active participant in Bronx Health Reach and the #Not62 Movement. Not62 addresses the alarming statistic that the Bronx is 62nd out of 62 New York counties regarding health statistics.  CERN’s Tai Chi classes, HIV Awareness presentations and D.O.M.E Experience multimedia and multicultural performances are all part of our efforts to inform and promote better health outcomes for residents of the Bronx.
